@sbagley@mathyawp Sure. I just had a very enjoyable chat this morning with an EE major about circuits analysis. It was fun to help him match his intuition of resistors/capacitors with the mathematical solution to the IVP modeling it.
@sbagley@mathyawp Sometimes the questions are "I knew how to solve the exercise on this quiz, but I really didn't understand why this step works". Other times a student wants to work through the proof of a fact I hand-waved in class.
@sbagley@mathyawp I also really enjoy when students say "okay, so I know how to solve the homework and quiz problems, but what would happen if I had a polynomial instead of an exponential here?".
@sbagley@mathyawp I'm able to spend this time with students because I reduced my old requirement of 2 passed quizzes with just 1. I'm very happy to swap out time spend grading with individualized chats with students. (I've gotten three or four asking about the math minor now, and I usually get 0.)
