@eluberoff @matthematician @trans_versality @PhilDeOrsey @Desmos My best stab at this: when an unauthenticated user hits this page, they probably aren't a Desmos user. So if I want them to become a Desmos user, I want to quickly show off the cool thing that's on the page.

@eluberoff @matthematician @trans_versality @PhilDeOrsey @Desmos In this case, that's available when the user hits "Student Preview". But in my grumpy quick glance earlier, it was not obvious to me that's what I wanted. A big button that says "Try Now" or "Demo" might have been more apparent?

@eluberoff @matthematician @trans_versality @PhilDeOrsey @Desmos Maybe it's the "student" that threw me earlier. I'm an instructor, as are most of the users you want to convert.

@eluberoff @matthematician @trans_versality @PhilDeOrsey @Desmos There's just a lot going on that page (topbar menu, sidebar menu, little buttons that represent activity screens that still don't make much sense to me). I think you want to sell me on that activity itself on that page; later you can show off all the other cool Desmos features.
