Hot take: whoever decided the best notation for describing Laplace transforms was f(t-a)u(t-a)→F(s)e^(-as) instead of L{f(t-a)u(t-a)}=L{f}e^(-as) never tried to teach them.

Lukewarm follow up take: maybe this is just a tough concept for students and seriously we spent 50 minutes on just this process today someone tell me how to do better because that doesn't seem necessary.
