    @sbagley @drspoulsen Oh yeah I guess that's the exception to my other tweet: most models are just a sum of stuff that adds to zero, so you might have extra stuff that's described directly in terms of t instead of the quantity you're modeling.

      @sbagley @drspoulsen E.g. model a falling object under air resistance. But oh yeah after ten seconds the object has rockets that turn on and apply a linearly growing upward force lol.

        @sbagley @drspoulsen I guess I mostly avoid those because they feel like a stretch, conveniently placed at the section of the textbook that allows you to deal with them.
