@siwelwerd @dccmath This is what I'm getting at with my claim that token systems seem good because they are defining a clear mechanism for feedback, that for some students outweighs the issues from artificial scarcity.

@siwelwerd @dccmath Oh actually I want to push back on this terminology. There's a very real scarcity in terms of instructional time. So token systems are perhaps better described as arbitrary scarcity, not artificial.
