Interested in learning about the free and open-source resources offered at Library.TBIL.org? I self-recorded my presentation from MathFest so folks who could not attend could learn about it as well: youtube.com/watch?v=6OoRS_bkdXg

Excited for our upcoming @AIMathematics workshop on sociotechnical infrastructure driving mathematics research! Maybe you can help? - We may have room for more funded participants. Reach out ASAP if you're interested! (see next tweets...)

I'm feeling fairly confident that prose.runestone.academy is the only Mathfest exhibitor who offers two full math textbooks as free PDF downloads via the conference app.

I had an X before it was cool.

New editions of linear.tbil.org and calculus.tbil.org just dropped. If you will use them this fall, let me know any issues you see in the next week or so and we'll hotfix them before moving on to working on the 2024 editions. #TeamBasedLearning #InquiryBasedLearning

#PreTeXtGang if y'all haven't upgraded to 1.7 yet and you have generated assets (e.g. latex-image, sageplot, etc), don't wait. These assets are now generated automatically for each build if they've changed since the previous build, so no separate generation step is required!

Excited that PROSE.runestone.academy, formerly the @PreTeXtBook-@iRunestone Open-Source Ecosystem, is now "The PROSE Consortium", teaming up with @WeBWorK2 and Doenet.org to work together towards our common mission of supporting open-source STEM education.

I'd like to announce that I've seen the light and √(-1) does exist, but its value is -i. Square both and you get -1, so the math checks out. @StevenXClontz/1676591662846337028

On this Independence Day, we celebrate LOTS [linearly ordered topological spaces]. @MathProfPeter/1676429548320088067

Hot take. √(-1) does not exist, but there exists a number i where i²=-1. I am not taking any questions.

I can also be found in another app. I'd like to find you there too.

Can anyone suggest a good @github pages template for academics? Do I recall @siwelwerd uses one? I failed to find a great example during today's drop-in chat. (Which otherwise I hope was useful for folks. We had a great turn-out!)

It's not a full workshop, but I'm holding an informal Zoom dropin today at PROSE.runestone.academy/dropin/ where I'll demo how I use GitHub for a few different solutions supporting my mathematical scholarly activity. It starts 35 minutes after this tweet. @StevenXClontz/1648476406563889155

I like developing with @github #CodeSpaces, but it's obnoxious that it seems every other time I try using it on a weekend there's one bug or another.

Wayne Brady problem: three Aces and three Kings are dealt face down in an order only Wayne knows. You pick three; if they match you win $10K. Two of your three cards must match, so Wayne reveals them. What cash offer would you accept to walk away?
